Peace Poster Participants Appreciated
Lion Roland Caruso visited classrooms at Freeport IL middle
schools to personally thank the children who participated in the 2016 Peace
Poster Contest by submitting artwork.
Congratulations, Rosa Solis, Carl Sandburg Middle School,
2016 Freeport Lions Club Peace Poster Contest Winner.
Other contest artist contestants were issued a certificate of appreciation
and colored pencils.
Winners selected locally advance to district, state, national and finally worldwide competition until one winner is chosen by Lions Clubs International.
For more than 25 years, millions of children from nearly 100 countries have participated in the contest.
Each poster is judged on originality, artistic merit and expression of the theme.
At the international level, judges from the art, peace, youth, education and media communities select one grand prize winner and 23 merit award winners.

Peace Poster Contest Awards
International winners will be notified on or before February 1.
One international grand prize winner will receive US$5,000 and a trip to a special award ceremony.
Each of the 23 merit award winners will receive a cash award of US$500 and a certificate of achievement.
